ABOUT US

The Beloved CPA Firm

Ethics and Integrity are not just fancy bywords to us

You might say we are The Beloved CPA™, a next-generation practice that combines professional excellence with humility, kindness, and thought leadership. We believe in a simple, timeless idea: If you really care about clients, not just in words, but in the way you show up, they will care about you and pay you fairly for that. Ethics and integrity aren’t buzzwords for us; they’re business as usual.

How We Are Regulated

Jedidiah CPA PLLC is a licensed CPA firm in IL, US, and it is also publicly verifiable that we are enrolled in the AICPA peer review program (firm number 900256002153)

Based in Elgin, Illinois — in the Chicago suburbs — Jedidiah CPA PLLC serves clients locally and nationally. For clients in the greater Chicago area, we are available for in-person meetings. For clients across the U.S., we work fully remotely with the same responsiveness and care.

You can also publicly verify the CPA license for managing partner, Dickson Wasake here and his UK accountancy (ACCA) qualifications here.

Sure, sure, a CPA is required to act ethically per our guidelines - many know this, BUT we do take ethics pretty seriously – so you can expect that we aim to act with the highest levels of integrity. Ethics and Integrity are not just fancy bywords to us; it’s business as usual for us. This is our DNA

Where We Can Serve You

Jedidiah CPA is licensed in Illinois and operates under the CPA mobility and practice-privilege rules adopted by most U.S. jurisdictions. We are a full-service CPA firm.

For non-attest services (tax, advisory, CAS/fractional CFO, modeling, feasibility studies), we can generally serve clients in most U.S. states under mobility, so long as we remain in good standing and meet each state’s rules.

For attest services (audits, reviews, certain regulated reports), availability varies by state. Before we accept any attest engagement outside Illinois, we verify—using CPAMobility.org and state board guidance—whether:

• Full mobility applies (no local firm license required), or
• A notice, registration, or local firm permit is required.

At present, CPA firm mobility is available in many U.S. jurisdictions, and all 55 U.S. licensing jurisdictions participate in a mobility framework supported by NASBA and AICPA. However, specific requirements differ by state and can change, so we confirm eligibility on a case-by-case basis before accepting any engagement. Based on the information to date, all states except Hawaii and New Hampshire offer in-state reciprocity.

What are our values?

It’s best to say this to explain ourselves: “….kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, there is no law against things such as these. ”

It should be business as usual to expect your CPA to treat you with kindness and perhaps gentleness, even when deadlines are pressing or business is tough.

It is likewise okay to expect faithfulness – after all, typical relationships with your accountant last for years. It’s not unusual for firms to use the same accountant for 100+ years. So yes, this is what we strive for.

Knowing this, do you now see how we can become known as “Jedidiah the beloved [CPA].”

Our Team Model

Jedidiah CPA operates with a senior-led model. Dickson leads and reviews all engagements personally — you will have direct access to the partner on every project, not just at kick-off.

Depending on the scope of your engagement, Dickson is supported by a carefully selected team of qualified CPAs, EAs, and accountants — including those trained to Big 4 documentation and quality standards. Our team is globally dispersed, which allows us to serve clients across time zones without compromising quality.

Our team helps to bring the values we care about to the fore front. Expertise, empathy, integrity, these are things you will see as you get to meet them.

Of Counsel Tax (Tax Lead)

John M is a U.S. Certified Public Accountant with over 40 years in practice and an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. He leads Jedidiah CPA's tax practice, combining preparation, proactive planning, and IRS representation with deep, hands-on expertise in the areas where U.S. tax law gets genuinely complicated: startups, foreign-owned U.S. businesses, the expat and digital-nomad community, and nonprofit organizations. Over four decades he has formed and advised countless businesses — giving clients more than a return-preparer, but someone who has walked the path from start-up to scale-up. A frequent writer on cross-border and expat tax, his insight has been cited in national outlets including Investopedia and U.S. News & World Report. Areas of expertise Tax planning & advisory — proactive, year-round strategy: entity selection, tax-treaty positioning, multi-state and cross-border structuring, and planning that anticipates the next transaction rather than reacting to it. IRS representation & resolution — representing clients before the IRS, from notices and examinations to resolving complex back-tax and compliance situations. Foreign-owned U.S. businesses — formation, taxation, and compliance: Forms 1120 and 1120-F (corporate and foreign-corporation returns), plus 5472 and 5471 cross-border ownership reporting. Partnerships & pass-through entities — Form 1065, 1120-S (S-corporations), foreign-partner withholding, and LLC-vs.-S-corp structuring for cross-border founders. Withholding on U.S.-source payments — Forms 1042 / 1042-S, with particular fluency in effectively connected income (ECI/ECTI) questions. Individuals & expats — Forms 1040 and 1040-NR, plus the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (Form 2555) and Foreign Tax Credit (Form 1116) that protect globally mobile clients from double taxation. Nonprofits — the full Form 990 family (990, 990-EZ, and the 990-N e-Postcard) for 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) organizations. Every engagement is prepared or reviewed by a licensed U.S. CPA, with secure handling of client information and clear, predictable pricing — no hourly surprises.
